Things to do

You will find a whole lot to do in this wonderful region famous for its production of Pastel. We are locacted in the ‘Triangle d’Or’ comprising Toulouse, Albi and Carcassonne and right in the middle of the area famous for its production of Pastel, Pays en Cocagne. Pastel is a plant with yellow flowers that is used to colour paints, fabrics, cosmetics etc blue! The Chateau in Magrin is the only museum dedicated to Pastel production and open daily from July to Mid September and Sundays year round.

From Golf less than 20 minutes away to horse riding just up the road and lac St Ferreol within a half hours drive, the choice is yours.

With fantastic medieval towns and villages dotted around the Tarn countryside and Revel, Toulouse and Albi all within an hours drive, there’s plenty to keep the whole family occupied.

Lautrec is a beautiful medieval village with a well preserved centre, absoloutely worth a visit. Close to Lautrec you will find Complex Aquaval, a park with swimming pools, ponds to walk around, play grounds and picnic areas. The swimming pools are open seasonally but the rest of the facilities are open year round.

Lac St Ferreol is a fantastic reservoir which collects water from the Montagne Noir and feeds the Canal Du Midi. In summer there are lots of activities available on the water or just enjoy a picnic by the lakeside. Cafes, restaurants and ice cream shops are also available.

Golf des Etangs de Fiac is located at Fiac which is just under 20 minutes drive away. A fabulous 18 hole course set in beautiful countryside and with lots of water features! Set on 36 hectares with 12 ponds this par 71 course will provide a few hours of enjoyable play. You will also find a club house with restaurant, a practice putting green and a driving range.

For wine lovers we are only a short 45 minute drive from the town of Gaillac, an area full of wine domains with lots open to visitors. On the way to Gaillac, you will pass vineyards and Chateau, a visit is a must!

In the other direction it won’t take long before you reach the vineyards of Languedoc, the Canal du Midi and even Carcassonne can be reached in 1h.15 minutes.

Toulouse can be reached within 40 minutes to the fantastic shopping on the outskirts. Toulouse airport is approximately 50 minutes drive.

Stade Toulousain is around 45 minute drive. How about watching a rugby league match between Toulouse Olympic 13 versus an English Superleague opponent? Toulouse are playing in the European Superleague composing teams from England as well as the Catalan Dragons in Perpignan. Being Hull FC supporters, we can’t wait to go!

Our nearest town with all amenities is Puylaurens, around a 10 minute drive away. Here you will find supermarkets, a weekly market, shops, bars, a fantastic viewpoint and a historic centre.

St Paul Cap de Joux is 7kms away and here you will find a local boulangerie, weekly market, take away pizza shops and a small convenience store. There is also a post office and tourist information office.

Lavaur is an easy 20 minute drive and is a bustling working French town. Here it is possible to get the train into Toulouse. A fantastic market, lots of shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars are to be found here. The medieval centre has a fantastic 13th Century Cathedral overlooking the river. Lavaur like many towns in the region, was one of the bastions of the Cathar religion.
